Guatemala Maya Route

What participants wrote us:

"The mail contact we had was fine. The questions I asked were answered well. Good tour. I don’t think you can better it. Highlights are well distributed. Have a good picture of his country. Highlights: Tikal and what followed shortly thereafter. Bart is a super tour guide. And anyone who thinks otherwise should try itself themselves. Just need to make sure the travel program is fixed in good time, and is also on the site. Then everyone knows where he/she stands. That’s the only thing I would like to see improved. Apart from that I think Motor Trails is a great organization where for years now I book my travel with no regrets afterwards, and where I will be booking in the future. Marco and staff thank you so much!"

"Sufficient pre-tour information, great comprehensive little handbook. The tour was fantastic, really enjoyed it. I understand the reason for beginning and ending in San Pedro Sula (motorcycle hire) but an alternative would make the tour even better. Kite Festival was fantastic, also the Mayan ruins obviously. Tour guide Bart is a fantastic man toward whom I feel much esteem, respect and friendship. His knowledge is considerable, and he knew how to share this with us in a very pleasant and clear way. He can sometimes be a bit of a scatterbrain, but I readily forgive him for that."

"Contact as always great. Very interesting tour with many cultural highlights. Days spent travelling were not very long and the ‘non’ riding days were well planned. Highlights are the visits to Copan and Tikal. The kite festival too is a definite highlight! In terms of knowledge of the country, the language and cultural issues tour guide Bart is very good. "

"A brilliant tour. From Copan to the kite festival to Lago Atitlan, a beautiful wave of culture, tradition and nature. Followed by such a triptych as Chichicastenango, abode in the jungle and Tikal. Tour guide Bart is a better guide than tour leader, very well informed of culture, tradition and nature. In terms of leadership sometimes unclear / chaotic."
Mark Franssen - Guatemala Mayan Route 2014

"Contact is good! Changes made to program as instructed and all mutual agreements fulfilled. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the program was varied as were the visits to cultural and tourist spots. The Tikal Inn notwithstanding, all good or very good hotels and homestays. Highlights are Copan, Tikal, the contact with the population, the homestay in Los Pinos and Rio Dulce, the kite festival together with a visit to the cemetery. Tour leader Bart knows a great deal and speaks good Spanish but is organisationally sometimes ‘a bit muddled’."
Jan de Bruin - Guatemala Mayan Route 2014

"The pre-tour information was clear and comprehensive. The trip was a success. Good, well organised. First class tour guide. Tribute in particular to Lidwien and Mathias. "
