Physical challenges
The physical demand of this trip depends entirely on the rainfall. In the event of rain, the ground changes into a slippery mudpool, in which case the day trip to Tsagaan Nuur will be especially challenging. Because of this we do not choose for particularly difficult routes. In general the roads in Mongolia are of poor condition and even the highways are usually sufficiently demanding.

Distances and accommodation
Some of the distances are quite long in the world’s emptiest land. Furthermore, outside the few towns there are hardly any accommodation facilities. We will have to camp in several places for which tents and camping gear are provided.

Climate
Mongolia has an extreme continental climate. This means cold winters and hot summers. The best time to travel here is in Spring and Autumn. In May there is usually much snow on the ground still.

Visa
A visa is required for Mongolia which you need to apply for before departure.
