Cyprus Trodos Trail

Day 1 - Paphos - Polis
Flight from home to Cyprus with probably connecting transfer flight to Paphos where we hire the bikes. We get on our bikes straight away and ride to our apartment in Polis (good idea to go easy on the alcohol during the flight). The luggage is taken on a small bus and taken to the hotel in Polis. After sorting out the rooms there is time for a short talk about the trip.

Day 2 - First daytrip
During this first trip we get to establish the capability level as well as the interests of the group so that we can fine tune all trips of our programme accordingly. Today we ride a bit of asphalt and spend the rest of the day on simple off-road routes.

Day 3 - Second daytrip
A long and enjoyable day with a lot of variety in scenery as well as routes. We pass traditional villages and have lunch in a small local restaurant on the coast. We pick up unpaved tracks through the mountains as well as some more difficult stretches of sand along the coast. From there we ride up into some of the higher mountains of this region with beautiful views of the coastline. We have our evening meal in the small town of Polis.

Day 4 - Third daytrip
Today’s trip takes us to the Troodos mountains, a magnificent and varied location. Challenging tracks wind their way through the pine forests and we enjoy a ride over stony paths, and past deserted Turkish villages towards the coast. We visit the Kykko monastery and make our way back to Polis over forest trails.

Day 5 - Day off
It is entirely your choice what you do today. You can choose from a number of different water sports (diving, surfing, para-sailing, or just swimming), or go shopping in Paphos.

Day 6 - Fourth daytrip
Today’s programme takes us to the stunning and rocky Akamas Nature Reserve. An exciting and demanding ride full of surprises. If the political situation allows it, we will try and cross the border to Turkish northern Cyprus.

Day 7 - Fifth daytrip
Our last trip takes us to the Blue Lagoon in the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean. We end this enjoyable and varied day with a sumptuous meal at our hotel.

Day 8 - Polis - Paphos - home
After a hearty breakfast we leave for the airport for our return flight back home.
